We just completed 2 days of winter monitoring for the endangered Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit looking for burrows and fecal pellets. Happy to be able to bring 6 dedicated U of I students to help out. Also there was much good news because Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is finding double the number of active burrows this year.

Today we helped Washington Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the USFWS trap the endangered Columbian Basin pygmy rabbit in the captive breeding enclosures and moved kits between enclosures to reduce inbreeding for future matings.
